Marilyn Roy

Lafayette – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Marilyn Roy “Cookie” Isadore, 63, who passed away October 3, 2010. Rev. Robert Seay, OFM will officiate the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Known throughout her life as “Cookie”, Marilyn was a resident of Lafayette, LA. She was an Altar Lady and faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Good Hope Chapel. She retired from Borden’s, Inc. She was a great wife, sister, cousin and friend and she will be greatly missed by everyone.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Isadore of Lafayette; sister, Julia Roy Rubin; brothers, Clarence Roy, Sr. and Earl Dan Roy, Sr., all of Lafayette; a niece and nephews whom she referred to as her children, Maydell Roy-McZeal (Rev. Ernest Jr.) of Sunset, Joseph Rubin, Forrest J. Rubin Sr. (Florence) and Clarence Roy Jr., all of Lafayette, Earl D. Roy Jr. (Katourah) of Oklahoma Military Base and Kevin George Sr. (Ida) of Dallas, TX; one uncle, Clarence Anderson (Cora Lee) of New Orleans; special friends, Gracie S. Prince (Edward) and Madeline Obey; godchildren, Donavon Duhon, Earl D. Roy Jr. and Edward Rubin; two stepdaughters, Sylvia Isadore and Victoria Isadore, both of Houston, TX and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Roy; mother, Blanche Winters Roy; maternal grandparents, Ullysees Winters and Julia C. Green; paternal grandparents, Joseph Roy and Eva Gabriel; one brother, Horace E. Roy; one great nephew, Terrance Rubin and mother-in-law, Betty Isadore.

A special thanks to Dr. Mesa, Dr. Harwood, Dr. Blanchet, Dr. Sanatic, Paramount Hospice of Acadiana and nurses, Debbie and Dalondra.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Syrie Funeral Home beginning at 7 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m.
