Lafayette – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our angel, Geraldine. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Geraldine “Gerry” Gary, 60, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 24, 2012 at her residence.

Services will be conducted by Deacon Anthony Ozene.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Geraldine was born on March 5, 1952, the youngest of 10 children, to Stella and Joseph Gary. She was a native and longtime resident of Lafayette, LA. Though recently retired, Geraldine spent the last 37 years of her life as the heart and soul of Piccadilly Cafeteria in the Oil Center. She will always be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother, sister, aunt, godmother, grandmother, friend and worker. Words could never truly describe how much she’ll be missed.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cureston and Andrea Gary of Lafayette; two grandsons, Christian Nickolas and Jordan Malik Gary; 5 sisters, Mary Richardson, Beatrice Roy and Olivia August, all of Lafayette, Georgianna West and Mary Katherine Gilbert, both of Houston, TX; 3 brothers, Joseph (Karen) Gary, Peter (Gladys) Gary, Sr. of Lafayette and Warren (Mary) Gary of Houston, TX; two godchildren, Raven Williams and Duntravis Phillips and a host of loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Joseph Gary; one brother, Gustav Gary and one nephew, Clifford Gary.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7 a.m. until time of service.

A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
