Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church for Mr. Warren Joseph Alexander, 68, who died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Pastor Kirk P. Alexander, nephew of Warren, will officiate the funeral service.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Warren Joseph Alexander was born February 4, 1944 in Lafayette, LA. He was a graduate of Paul Breaux High School class of 1965 and served in the United States Navy for 20 years. Survivors include his son, Spencer James Alexander (Melanie); three grandchildren, Drexal, Khyree and Kolbie Alexander, all of Lithonia, GA; five sisters, Deloris A. Butler (Samuel), Lois A. Dickey, both of Lafayette, Doris Chassion (Harold) of Clarksville, TN, Madeline J. Alexander and Etta Rose Jefferson, both of Loreauville, LA; four brothers, Carenza Alexander (Mary Alice), Lester Thomas (Loubertha), Dale Thomas (Lynn) and Leroy Thomas, all of Lafayette, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Mildred Alexander and one sister, Rose Alexander.

The family would like to thank Louisiana Extended Care at Lafayette General Medical Center, nurses and staff on 9th and 10th floors for all the care given to Warren.

The family request that visitation be observed on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
