Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church in Cade, LA for Willie Meyers, Sr., 88, who died June 9, 2012 at Kindred Hospital.

Services will be conducted by Rev. John Stevens.

Entombment will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Mausoleum.

He is survived by his children, Faye Meyers McRae (Lee), Joycelyn Meyers, Gwendolyn Meyers Dunbar (Roy), all of Lafayette, James Gerard Meyers of Atlanta, GA, Willie Meyers, Jr. of Lafayette, LA, Virginia Hunter (Brenell), Ella Mae London, both of Lake Charles, Theresa Broussard of Opelousas and Consetta LaFleur of Dallas, TX; 31 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Meyers of Lafayette and Hazel Burney of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Meyers; his parents, Felton Meyers, Sr. and Stella Chassion; two grandsons, JeVaugh Meyers and Aaron Meyers; one granddaughter, Tiniqua Meyers; three brothers, Archie Meyers, Felton Meyers and Lloyd Meyers; two sisters, Lena Columb and Felicia Fusilier.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 at Syrie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Cade, LA from 8 a.m. until time of service.
