Kaplan - Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church for Versey Marie Broussard Mouton, 86, who gave up her earthly home for an eternal home in Heaven on Saturday, June 3, 2012 at 7:50 a.m. at her residence in Kaplan.

Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

“Momma Butt”, as she was known to all, was loved by everyone. She loved life, her children, siblings and all grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren to the fullest. Momma Butt loved playing Bingo, scratching off lottery tickets, watching game shows and listening to her “Spirituals”.

A devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, she leaves the gift of love, faith, patience and courage to her devoted family, her daughters, Patricia Boudreaux and Lisa Mouton of Kaplan, LA; her sons, Merlin Mouton of Abbeville, LA and Raymond Mouton of Kaplan, LA. She is also survived by her sister, Annie (Elmo) Huntsberry of Abbeville, LA and her brother, Shirley Wade (Joyce) Broussard of Kaplan, LA. She leaves to cherish her memory 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is now in the loving company of those who preceded her on this journey, her husband, James Mouton; daughter, Anna Marie Mouton O’Brien; son, Donald Joseph Mouton; her parents, Cornelius and Hazel Broussard; brothers, Otis Broussard, C. J. Broussard and sister, Freida Broussard Babineaux. She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Derrick O’Brien, Sr. and Kimberly O’Brien; great grandchildren, Derrick Milam O’Brien and Aindan O’Brien; son-in-law, Thaddeus Boudreaux, Sr.; daughters-in-law, Barbara Mouton and Virgie Mouton.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
