Alvin Alphae Antoine, Sr.

Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 12 Noon at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Alvin Alphae Antoine,Sr., 71, who was born March 22, 1941 and went home to be with his Father on May 9, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Vitas Hospice in Houston, TX.

Interment will be in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.

His is survived by eight children, Alvin (Vanessa) Antoine, Jr., Wanda (Earl) Clemons, both of Carencro, LA, Pamela (Rodgers) Augustine, Phyllis Antoine, Virgis Antoine, Shawn (Jamie) McZeal, Dawn (Robert) Antoine, all of Lafayette, LA and Nichole (Howard) Moffett of Sugarland, TX; 25 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 12 step-children; a very special friend, Ms. Sandra Bell of Texas City, TX; sisters and brothers, Wanda (Allen) Randall, Helen (Felton) Charles, Mable Porter, Eunice Taylor, Dallas (Velma) Antoine, Junius (Katie) Antoine, Gladys (Eljay) Wiltz, all of Lafayette, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Carter; his second wife, Mary Davis; son, Troy M. Antoine; parents, Lydia Hopkins Antoine and Alphae Antoine; maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Dennis Antoine; sister, Rose Antoine Thomas; 6 nephews, 3 nieces, 3 brothers-in-law and one aunt.

The entire Antoine family would like to thank everyone for their support in our time of need.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7 a.m. until time of service.

A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.
